It's a discount, not cashback
Amazon's instant bank offers reduce the price at checkout. Amazon says the bank discount is given "on the product price and not in form of a cashback". You see the reduced total before you pay, so there's nothing to wait for or claim.
The rules every offer has
- Minimum order value. Each order must cross it on its own.
- Maximum discount. A cap per order, and usually a cap per card for the whole sale. You can use the offer on several orders until the card's limit is used up.
- EMI or full payment. Some offers apply only to EMI, some only to full payment, and some have a higher cap for EMI. The offer's terms say which.
- Not eligible: card on delivery, net banking and corporate cards.
- Returns: if you cancel or return, the refund is the amount you paid after the discount.
Amazon's offer processing fee
Amazon charges a processing fee on orders that use a bank discount, scaled to the size of the discount. It applies to Prime members too and isn't refunded once the order ships.
| Bank discount on the order | Processing fee |
|---|---|
| Under ₹25 | ₹0 |
| ₹25 to ₹299 | ₹9 |
| ₹300 to ₹499 | ₹29 |
| ₹500 to ₹999 | ₹49 |
| ₹1,000 to ₹1,499 | ₹69 |
| ₹1,500 to ₹2,999 | ₹99 |
| ₹3,000 or more | ₹199 |

Does it stack with card rewards?
Usually yes. The bank discount comes off the price, and your card then earns its normal rewards on the amount you actually pay, unless you choose EMI. Most cashback cards earn nothing on EMI. In past sales, Amazon Pay ICICI cardholders have also had a separate, smaller sale offer of their own, so compare the two totals at checkout.
A 30-second checklist
- Open the Bank offers section on the product page and read the minimum order, the cap and whether it's EMI-only.
- Check that your card is a personal credit card from the partner bank.
- At checkout, confirm the discount line appears before you pay, along with the processing fee.
- If you'd pay on EMI to get a bigger discount, add up the bank's EMI processing fee and the rewards you lose. Here's how.
