Good

  • Lifetime free
  • 5% on Amazon.in for Prime members with no cap
  • Rewards credited automatically every cycle
  • Lowest forex markup in this list

Watch out

  • Rewards can only be spent on Amazon
  • Nothing on EMI orders, including no-cost EMI
  • Utilities outside Amazon and international spends earn nothing
  • By invitation, so not everyone can apply

What it's worth

A Prime member who spends ₹10,000 a month on Amazon.in gets ₹500 back every month as Amazon Pay balance, ₹6,000 a year, with no fee to offset it. Without Prime the same spend returns ₹300 a month. Because there's no cap, this card keeps pace with big purchases where capped cards stop earning.

The big exception is EMI. Any purchase on EMI, including Amazon's no-cost EMI, earns nothing, and a purchase converted to EMI later has its rewards taken back. If you buy phones and laptops on no-cost EMI, compare that saving with the 5% you give up.

The catch

Rewards are Amazon Pay balance, not cash, so they're only worth face value if you'd have spent that money on Amazon anyway. Since October 2025, utilities paid outside Amazon and international spends earn nothing, and since January 2026 there are fees on large wallet loads and gaming spends. Forex markup is low at 1.99%, but you earn nothing on those spends.

How to get it

ICICI issues this card by invitation. Check the Amazon app under Amazon Pay for a card offer; existing ICICI customers often see one in iMobile as well. If you don't have an invitation, the SBI Cashback card earns 5% on Amazon too, up to its monthly cap.

Applying

After the online form, most banks ask for a short video KYC call. Keep your original PAN card, a white sheet of paper and a pen ready. Here's how to get through it first time, and how to resume if you stopped midway.
