Can you get it today?
American Express says it is "temporarily pausing the acceptance of new card applications in India". This applies to this card as of 28 Oct 2026.
What changed in 2026
Amex cut this card twice in 2026. In March the milestones were reduced. In September the ₹1.9 lakh milestone was removed and the reward at ₹7 lakh became a Taj voucher worth ₹20,000. From 1 October 2026, domestic lounge visits depend on how much you spent in the previous quarter.
Who it suits
Existing cardholders who will spend at least ₹4 lakh a year on it, ideally ₹7 lakh. Below that, a lifetime-free card with a benefit you use, such as the IndusInd EazyDiner Platinum, will return more.
